Poison Waters Beermosa releases April 11th with the celebration culminating on June 20th with a Pro-Am Craft Brewer Drag Show
Portland, Ore., April 2nd, 2024 — Beloved Portland drag sensation Poison Waters is the latest subject of the Gigantic Brewing Company / Weird Portland United (WPU – 501c3) ‘Weirdtastic’ beer series, bringing the collaboration total to 7 beers. Quite possibly America’s busiest drag queen, Kevin Cook, aka Poison Waters, is a Portland institution who has been making the world smile for over 35 years. From the side of a bus to the limelight of the Schnitz, there is literally nowhere in the city Poison’s presence has not graced, save for a can of craft beer. With Poison Waters’ direct guidance and supervision, the team at Gigantic concocted a larger-than-life brew that stands toe-to-toe with Poison’s persona in a can equally as shiny as her sequin dress.
Inspired by Poison Waters and her humor, joy and positive light, the Beermosa Gigantic created is a golden ale loaded with citrusy Tangerine and Pineapple Puree, delivering an incredibly easy drinking and juicy experience. “This is the beer you want to drink on a gorgeous sunny day, or while hanging out with gorgeous drag queens”, says Gigantic Brewmaster Ben Love.
Poison Waters Beermosa marks the 7th collaboration between Gigantic Brewing and WPU since 2022, following a string of much hyped and celebrated Portland-centric beers including Unipiper Hazy IPA, PDX Adult Soapbox Derby Summer Ale, Mike Bennett’s Day Off IPA, Darcelle Blonde IPA, Bud Clark Coffee Stout, and Mill Ends Park Irish Red. Through these efforts, the team has raised over $5,000 in support of Weird Portland United’s efforts to sustain a normal level of weird for the Rose City. For 2024, WPU is tackling its largest project to date, an entire festival dedicated to the weird wonders of Portland.

Worlds collide on April 11th as Portland’s weird community joins forces with Poison waters and friends to celebrate this momentous occasion. Be among the very first to taste the Beermosa on April 11th with Poison Waters herself. Festivities will include a mini-drag show with Ilani Estrella, TheQueen Pluto, and Lucky Xøx, and appearances by The Unipiper, Aurelia Stardancer, and other special guests. After the release, Poison Waters Beermosa will be available on draft and store shelves everywhere Gigantic is sold.
